VANDA 'Pure's Wax Blue'

Pure's Wax Blue have large Violet - Blue flowers of 4-5 inch size. They have the distinct colour and appearance.

The term Vanda is derived from its 'Sanskrit' name. As they are monopodial they grow tall and hence need support. They can be divided by 'layering' if they grow too tall. Vandae prefer warm temperature and strong light.

Strap leaves Vanda vs Terete leaves Vanda

Vandae are classified according to the shape of their leaves.

Strap Leaf Vanda: Have broad, flat leaves which are thickly packed in a symmetrical fashion. They are suitable as indoor plants

Terete-Leaf Vanda: Have cylindrical leaves with a thickness of a pen. Flower spikes appear on the opposite side of the leaves. They are less suitable as indoor plants as they are sun loving. They are rare to find.

Semi Terete-Leaf Vanda: Are hybrids of the above. They spike multiple times in a year and require bright light
